Post-Consumer Nostalgia

Fiddle music and hot peanut oil
Echoes of music and laughter
Gone beneath luxury vinyl plank
And white painted bricks.

"My grandma taught me,"
They say smiling at the camera,
But she never did
Because they weren't listening.

They miss something
Most never had and can't imagine.
It was already long gone --
Buried beneath a pile of plastic.
